Formatting a link with bit.ly
I've been using Carbon for reading tweets for some time now, however, I've never sent out any tweets.
I know am looking to do so and would like some tips on how to use the bit.ly shortener for Carbon.
I've messed around with it some, but must not be doing something correctly to make it work or I am not understanding how it's used in Carbon.
Basically I have a message that I want to include a link to a webpage. How do I use bit.ly to shorten the url for use in Carbon.
e.g. This is my message. Check out this link http://bit.ly/foobar
Where the link is actually something like
Any help would greatly be appreciated. Thanks!

On compose screen, there are Four buttons at the bottom of the screen. The second from the left hast two arrows pointing towards each other, that's the button that shrinks your url to a bit.ly url.
We know the icon is not that clear and we've changed it with an obvious icon for URL shortening that you'll find in the coming release of the app.

Thanks for the reply. Yes I am aware that is what the button was, but how do I actually use it? Do I type out my message, then hit that button if I have links in the tweet, before I actually post the tweet? Or....

Write your message including the long URL and once you're done tap on the URL Shortener and it will format it as a bit.ly URL... Hope that helps...

At what point is the URL long enough to be shortened automatically by
tapping that button.
For example, http://www.google.com won't shorten, but a much longer, say
forum thread link would.. Just curious as to the length of the URL before it
gets shortened.
Thanks.

That's right, URLs have to be longer than 26 characters long to be considered for shortening...
